Please join me in celebrating my 700th 4th Day Letter. When I sat down to write this week’s 4th Day Letter, I reflected upon the memories of so many past messages. I can hardly believe that I have written seven hundred over the past 13 plus years. I only set out with a plan to write one. But I just kept writing one at a time, week after week, and year after year. And, by God’s grace, here we are. It is fitting that this 700th message comes out right after Easter. Find out why this milestone is also deeply personal and important to you.
Today’s message isn’t about me. It’s about us. You and me. It’s about the journey we’ve taken together—one step, one reflection, one prayer at a time. But, at its core, this message is about God, because He’s the only reason this ministry exists at all.
There is power in every small step. Seven hundred is a big number, but it’s made up of small, individual steps. And that’s how our walk with God works too. We don’t get to faithfulness, healing, or transformation in one big leap. It happens in the small, daily choices—the quiet prayers, the hours spent reading Scripture, the moments of trust, and the times we get back up after falling.
Maybe today, you don’t feel like you’ve made much progress in your spiritual life. Maybe you’ve struggled with the same sins, doubts, or fears for years. Maybe you’re wondering if God is really working in your life at all.
If that’s you, I want you to stop for a moment and think about how far you’ve come. Think about the little “yeses” you’ve said to God along the way. Think about the struggles you’ve endured and the grace He’s given you to keep going. You might not see it, but you’re growing. Every time you choose faith over fear, hope over despair, love over selfishness—you’re taking another step. And those steps add up.
God’s faithfulness on this journey is so evident. I never could have written 700 messages without God’s help. And you and I wouldn’t be here, still walking in faith, if not for His mercy and love.
The Bible reminds us, “The LORD’s acts of mercy are not exhausted, his compassion is not spent; they are renewed each morning—great is your faithfulness!” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
God’s mercy is new every single day. That means no matter how many times we’ve stumbled, no matter how far we feel from Him, He’s always there, inviting us to begin again.
We are Easter people renewed in the hope of the resurrection. This message comes to you just days after Easter Sunday—the greatest reminder we have that God brings life from death, hope from despair, and victory from what seems like defeat. The resurrection of Jesus changed everything, and it continues to change us every day.
That same resurrection power is at work in your life right now. Maybe you feel like you’re stuck in Good Friday, carrying a heavy cross. But Easter reminds us that the story isn’t over. The tomb is empty, and because of that, we have hope no matter what we face.
What’s Your 700? So, here’s my question for you: What’s the thing in your life that you need to keep saying “yes” to?
Maybe it’s staying faithful in prayer, even when you don’t feel like it. Maybe it’s resisting a temptation that’s been dragging you down. Maybe it’s reaching out to someone who needs to hear “I love you” or “I forgive you.” Whatever it is, don’t quit. Keep taking the next step. Someday, you’ll look back and realize you’ve traveled farther than you ever imagined.
The number 700 does not have direct Biblical significance like the number 7, which is seen as a symbol of completion and perfection. Sometimes, however, since 700 is a multiple of 7 it is interpreted as a symbol of divine guidance. Using that interpretation, I can say for sure that I would have never written 700 messages without God’s guidance.
Before I close, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for your readership and for walking this journey with me. Whether you’ve been reading these messages for years or you just stumbled across this one today, I am grateful for you.
This ministry has never been about me—it’s about the work God is doing in all of us. I’m just a fellow traveler, trying to follow Jesus, just like you. And let’s be honest—some weeks, I don’t feel like I have much to say. But then God reminds me: It’s not about me. It’s about sharing His love, His truth, and His grace. And as long as He gives me words to write, I’ll keep showing up.
God has given me an added blessing for this 700th anniversary edition. As you read this, I’ll be traveling to Pennsylvania, answering the call to put on a retreat in Rockview Prison. Putting on this retreat will be a humbling reminder that God’s love reaches everywhere—even behind locked doors. None of us are beyond His grace. None of us are too far gone. And that gives me even more reason to keep sharing this message of hope. The retreat is on Thursday April 24th. Please keep the inmates in your prayers.
So, here’s to the next step. Here’s to another week of trusting, growing, and walking together in faith. Thank you for being here. Thank you for saying yes to God. And thank you for reminding me, week after week, that none of us are alone on this journey.
Heavenly Father, I am so deeply indebted to you. I am indebted to You for your love, for the death and resurrection of your Son, for the calling you gave me to go forth with the good news of Your love and mercy, and finally Father, I am indebted for the inspiration Your Holy Spirit has provided me over these past 700 messages. Lord, please guide each of us in every small step we take on this journey of life. Amen!

It is all about just keeping one step. One yes at a time. I needed to be reminded that amongst the struggles, there have been so many graces.
Brian, WOW 700 & counting-like running a continuous marathon. Thank you, best of luck on your upcoming prison retreat & God bless you, Gayden.
Congratulations My friend
Brian,
Congratulations on your 700th message! You’re a blessing and an outstanding man of God. It was nice talking to you last month and I wish you the best on your journey.
Brian today’s message was like you (God) was reading my mind and heart. This letter is just what I needed to hear.
Thank you and congratulations on your milestone of 700.
May God continue to bless you.
Sometimes, Brian, your 4th Day Letter arrives and I think “I don’t want to read it today.” Not in the mood. But then something happens. Is it God telling me to self correct? So, inevitably, your Letter always has a message meant specifically for me. Hmmm.
I’m grateful for you.
I’m grateful for your 4th Day Letters.
Hi Brian,
I have always enjoyed your thoughtfulness reflections on our faith. Please continue what you’re doing for our parish as well as other places that you visit as well.
Brian: I have been grateful for the weekly opportunity to read 4th Day Letter for at least the past 400 weeks. Clearly, you have been gifted with a unique and creative ability to communicate God’s message of redemption and salvation. While the intellect is obvious, I want to also thank you for the “understandable” manner in which you present 4th Day Letter’s weekly messages. It occurs to me, Brian, that you probably communicate weekly with as many folks as Pastors of our largest churches. You are anointed, Brian, with many treasuries stored in heaven. I pray the good Lord will continue to strengthen you to do His Will and that He will continue to bless and protect your ministry.
May we support and uplift each other as we listen to the questions and nudgings in our hearts, and have the strength, by example and support of each other, and the moving of the Holy Spirit, to continue to say “yes”. Thank you for your openness, brotherly love, and example.
Good morning Brian
I am thankful that JW Davis introduced me to you so many years ago. Each Tuesday I look forward to receiving your message and pray that you will be given strength and health to continue for years to come. I know your ministry in Pennsylvania will be fruitful.
Safe travels my friend.

Congratulations Brian! Your ministry is such a blessing and inspiration. You have impacted my faith by your words and example. Thank you. Jim
Congratulations Brian! My Cursillo sponsor had recommended your 4th Day Letters to me back around 2015 and I’ve enjoyed every one of them! Thank you for being part of my own faith journey…we need a Christian Community in action to keep us on the path. I will keep you, Marybeth and the all the gentlemen in the prison in my prayers. May they receive the Holy Spirit this weekend & keep Jesus in their hearts always. God bless you.🙏✝️
Brian – Congratulations on your 700th letter! I have received many gifts over the years through my involvement with Cursillo and I consider meeting you and our friendship as one of the most significant. I remember sitting in a parlor at St. Francis Springs Prayer Center about 15 years ago praying with you and our conversation still brings me comfort to this day. You have been a true servant of God and he has used you to change the lives of so many wounded souls, including mine.
May our Lord continue to bless and strengthen you in your healing ministry and I will be praying for your April 24th retreat. God bless you my friend.
Paul
Brian, you have blessed countless people and in the process the Lord has blessed you. Praying for you as you head to the prison retreat!
Blessings,
Doug
Great job!
Good morning Brian
Many thanks for each of your 4th Day Messages. It’s only been a few weeks since we met at the retreat and I have been receiving them. Each one is a special inspiration for me. Thanks for your generosity, commitment, and faithfulness to Our Lord’s promptings. Please know that I will be praying for you this week as you minister to the inmates and live out Matthew 25:31….
Thank you Brian, you have gave me insight to be a better person since I attended a retreat at our church at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church near Andalusia,IL. I took a few Catholic Church ladies with me at that time and we all still agree you are an inspiration each week we read your letters! Thank you!
Brian,
Congratulations on reaching such an awesome milestone! I have been looking forward to reading your letters each week since your visit to a Church in my area perhaps 8 years ago.
Thank you for being a channel of inspiration and encouragement for me and for so many people. You’ve helped to motivate me in my own spiritual growth and in the way I seek to share my faith and understanding of God’s love with others.
Thank you for your openness and for keeping it 100% 700 times and counting! I pray that God keeps inspiring you in your ministry for many years to come!
Peace!
Bob Davis
