Words Of Inspiration

Lent is an ideal time to reflect on God and to reflect on just what it means to place our faith and trust in Him. Trials befall all people. Heartaches come our way. We find solace and consolation in God. Today, I want to share some inspiring words. I will employ a slightly different, more poetic, prayer style designed to be meditative in nature. I hope you find peace in what I have written. Please read more.

We often find ourselves burdened with the issues of our earthly existence. Original sin disrupted the harmony God intended us. Through Adam’s transgression, condemnation came upon all. Sin entered the world, and sin brought with it death, pain, strife, and human discord (Romans 5:12).

But, God has not abandoned us. Through one man, Jesus Christ, salvation came. Christ’s cross and resurrection triumphed over evil and sin. Where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more (Romans 5:15-21).

As you read this message, slowly try to reflect on the words in each line. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you through these words. Allow this reflection to wash over you. Allow it to reach the deepest recesses of your soul. Allow these words to comfort you. Let them ease your sorrows and soothe your pains. Allow these words to restore your relationship with God. And, above all else, allow them to bolster your faith during the remainder of your Lenten journey. I encourage you to read this over several times.

Lord, you have called me to serve.

I stand ready to serve in justice and in fear.

I must prepare myself for life’s inevitable trials.

I must remain sincere of heart and steadfast.

I must listen to Your Word, and seek understanding.

I must remain strong in times of adversity.

I must wait on you O Lord with patience,

clinging to You, and never forsaking You:

To be wise in all things,

I must accept what befalls me,

When sorrow comes, I must be steadfast.

When unfathomable misfortune strikes, I must be patient.

Gold and silver are tested.

So too worthy people in the crucible of life.

When I trust in you O God, You help me.

When I trust You, You direct my ways.

I must keep my gaze on You O Lord and grow old in You.

My fear is in You Lord and I wait on Your mercy.

When I turn from You, I fall.

If I fear in You O Lord, I must trust You.

And my reward will not be lost.

I who fear in You O Lord, hope for good things,

For lasting joy and mercy.

I who fear in You, love you Lord,

You enlighten my heart.

When I look to the past, I gain understanding.

Has anyone ever hoped in You Lord and been disappointed?

Has anyone who has persevered in Your commandments been forsaken?

Has anyone called upon You and been rebuffed?

Compassionate and merciful are you  O Lord:

You forgive my sins and save me in times of trouble.

You protect all who seek You in truth.

Heavenly Father, Your Son is my Savior.

In Him I find my salvation.

In Him I place my faith.

Through Him I come to you.

Have mercy on me O Lord, for I am a sinner.

Amen!
