Flip This House

Christ is still anxious to take residency in us. Broken Door Ministries and the Parable of the Broken Door were founded on the concept that Jesus dwells inside of us and that we are the door through which others will enter to meet Him. Here is a quote from “The Broken Door Parable”

“Now comes the challenging part. We cannot, we must not, wait until the door is perfect before inviting others into our life to meet Jesus who dwells within. That we need to work on our door is true. The weathering and deterioration of the door is the sin in our life. The rain of selfishness, the wind of worldly concerns will always beat on our door. But if we wait for perfection, we will deny others the opportunity to meet Jesus. And it is through Jesus that we bring others to God. Jesus calls us as we are-broken-to be the door through which others can enter to meet Him.”

Every homeowner knows that repairs are a constant issue to contend with. There is always something that needs to be fixed. The same is true for our souls. We are a work in progress if we are to make ourselves an acceptable sanctuary for God. What construction projects does your soul need?

What sins are weathering God’s dwelling? What spiritual tools can you employ to help with your repair project? We need to guard against being like the unscrupulous flipper.

Real spiritual restoration cannot merely mask over serious sinful issues with just a fresh coat of paint. Jesus wants his certificate of occupancy today. His is willing to live through the dust of your construction. Let the work begin!

Dear Heavenly Father, please send forth your Holy Spirit to be the construction supervisor for the renovation of my soul. Prepare me to be sanctuary for you, amen
